Kolpack for mayor animation

Here is what I stand for

Public Safety

I will fully support investments in public safety personnel and equipment, fiercely respect our first responders and always listen to the community, because safety is measured not just in statistics, but in the confidence people feel walking downtown, in their neighborhood or while enjoying our community’s many amenities.

Fiscal Responsibility

I will require a City budget that is responsible with every dollar, sustainable for future generations and fully transparent for the public. Taxpayers deserve to know not just what we spend, but why, how and what it delivers. I believe in smart growth, long-term planning and open books — because trust is built on transparency and results.

Professionalism

It’s time to bring professionalism back to Fargo City Hall. I will insist on clear roles, ethical leadership, accountability, respectful conduct and decisions grounded in facts…not dysfunction and drama.

Transparency

I don’t believe in closed doors and backroom decisions. I believe in open meetings, open records and open government because transparency isn’t optional, it’s essential. Accountability will be built into every decision, not forced after the fact.

Why I'm running

Everything that Fargo needs to be extremely successful is found right here, but we desperately need a leader who can unite us once again and restore faith in Fargo’s local governmental operations.

I’m running for Mayor of Fargo to reestablish professionalism within Fargo’s City government and rebuild Fargo’s strong reputation for public safety, fiscal sustainability and economic growth.

I’ve seen firsthand how Fargo’s government is currently operating and I know what it’s going to take to get it back on the right track. Even more, I know that we need to make it work better for you.

As your Mayor, I will work every day to reestablish trusted, steady and strong leadership for – and within – North Dakota’s largest community.

What people are saying

Louise Dardis | Former Assistant Superintendent of Schools, West Fargo Public Schools

“I’ve had the privilege of working with Denise on two major community boards. She consistently comes to every meeting exceptionally prepared, demonstrates a deep understanding of the mission, and, above all, embodies a genuine commitment to serving others.”

Danelle Zirnhelt | Community/Policy Activist

“After decades in policy advocacy, I know what it means to work with someone who gets things done. When I contacted Denise about an issue affecting my work, she was quick to respond and genuinely helpful. Even when I mentioned I live in Horace, she reminded me, ‘We are all part of the same region when it comes to finding solutions.’ That kind of collaborative mindset is impressive and rare in today’s society.”

Lynette Lein | Owner, Small Wonders Child Care

“Denise is relentless when it comes to a mission. She has been a consistent force in advancing affordable childcare in our community, including supporting our childcare grant initiatives as City Commissioner. Whenever I reach out, she is always ready to help. Simply put, she’s the best!”

Monte Jones | Restauranter/Entrepreneur Fargo

“Denise exemplifies the principle that those blessed with community support must give back. She has done so tirelessly, with heart, warmth and a positive spirit. Fargo is undeniably stronger because of her leadership.”

Robin Nelson | President, CEO Boys & Girls Club & Fargo Board of Education Member, Fargo

“In my experience as an elected official and active participant in legislative work, Denise has consistently shown she is a quick study on issues and highly agile in the often messy world of policymaking. Her decades of lobbying experience and the relationships she has built across North Dakota make her an incredible asset to Fargo and our region.”

Ron Guggisberg Fargo Firefighters Local 642

In the fire service, competence matters. It’s the difference between chaos and control, short-term reactions and long-term solutions. That’s why I support Denise Kolpack for Mayor.

Denise understands the needs of our city and the people who protect it. She takes the time to listen, asks smart questions, and thinks beyond the next crisis or election cycle. That kind of steady, prepared leadership is rare—and it’s exactly what Fargo needs.

As a firefighter and union leader, I know that good outcomes come from planning, trust, and doing the work before the alarm goes off. Denise approaches leadership the same way. She makes sure we’re heard, respects the role of public safety, and focuses on decisions that keep our city strong for the long haul.

That’s why I’m proud to support Denise Kolpack for Mayor.
